Janet Evanovich started her writing career as a romance novelist. She wrote twelve romance novels in about five years, got bored with romance novels, retooled herself, and came up with Stephanie Plum – seems like she did a good job of retooling. For those of you not familiar, Stephanie Plum is the zany bounty hunter from New Jersey. So far she has written thirteen novels, three novellas and a short story involving Stephanie Plum, and they are all worth the read. Her stories are light hearted, humorous with lots of action, and great characters. Her characters are real characters.
