Dean Koontz

Dean Koontz writes psychological horror stories.  He has some of the nastiest fictional antagonists that relish in playing mental games with the protagonist.  Once the mental games are done, then they start with the physical abuse.  Both his hardcover and paperback books have enjoyed New York Times bestseller status on a number of occasions.

In many of Koontz’s stories, dogs play a significant role.  He was deeply attached to his golden retriever, Trixie.  He has several story lines and product lines in memory of Trixie.  She died in 2007.  The proceeds from these lines go to Canine Companions for Independence.

In addition to his other stories, Koontz is currently writing two series – the Odd Thomas series and the Frankenstein series.  These stories are in traditional text and graphic novels.  The Odd Thomas character sees the dead, and Frankenstein is a modern adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic.
