Amy Tan’s works tend to be readable literary creations rather than pulp fiction. Her books have been nominated for and won many awards. They have been translated into thirty-five languages, and The Joy Luck Club has been made into a movie. Her parents were Chinese immigrants. She grew up in California – north of San Francisco.
